Applying for funding is simple, complete an application form online highlighting why your business requires funding and the positive difference it would make to the Walsall community.
More beneficiaries of Walsall Business Support grants will be announced shortly.
Zebra Access fundraising officer Bob Marsh said: “Zebra Access is truly grateful for the very kind donation received from Walsall Business Support. This will enable us to reach out to at least 20 employers in the region for them to enjoy and benefit from the Deaf awareness and basic BSL training that will also extend further to the local Deaf, Deafblind and hard of hearing community and their families.”
Next generation
Zebra Access has received a £6,500 grant from Walsall Business Support to provide 20 Deaf awareness and Basic British Sign Language training sessions to selected Walsall businesses.
Established in 2005, Zebra Access is a registered charity dedicated to ensuring that all Deaf, Deafblind and hard of hearing people, both adults and children, enjoy equal participation and access without communication barriers.
Last year Walsall Business Support provided £5,000 of funding to the Leather Skills Centre for the purchase of new tools to teach the next generation of saddle, bridle and leather goods makers in Walsall.
The grant enabled the centre to buy specialist equipment for learners at the Skills Centre, helping to train and grow the next generation of highly skilled leather goods makers in the area.
A second Walsall Business Support grant of £5,000 went to the Equine Fitters Council to administer and operate a new directory of Equine Fitters, which is being launched to improve standards.
