DS Training Services Ltd has received a £4,124 grant from Walsall Business Support to purchase new training equipment for courses.

Founded in 2018, DS Training Services is a family-owned enterprise specialising in delivering training services to both individual and corporate clients. Their expertise lies in providing comprehensive training in first aid, health and safety, safeguarding and food safety.

Walsall Business Support has awarded DS Training Services the grant to enable the company to purchase 12 new manikins and a trainer defibrillator, which will provide advanced training in the use of automated external defibrillators.

DS Training Services will also be able to purchase a new laptop to enhance their administrative capabilities and support the delivery of training programmes.

DS Training Services director Daniel Smith commented: “We are extremely grateful for this generous grant. The addition of new manikins and a trainer defibrillator will significantly enhance the quality of our training, making courses more realistic and better preparing participants for real-life emergencies as well as helping them gain a recognised qualification and lifesaving skills.

“The advanced functionality of the new manikins, which include features that accurately display compression depth, will help learners gain confidence in their technique.

“The additional defibrillator will expand our training resources, providing learners with the opportunity to familiarise themselves with different types of defibrillators that they may encounter in the Walsall community, ensuring they are well-prepared in the event of an emergency.

“Overall, this funding will enhance our training services, support our business expansion and deliver valuable regulated skills and qualifications to individuals, ultimately benefiting the broader Walsall community.

“As we continue to expand our impact, we welcome opportunities to collaborate further with organisations who share our vision of equipping individuals with life-saving skills. Together, we can build a safer and more resilient community in Walsall.”

Formed by leading local business figures to distribute funds collected from the legacy of Walsall Chamber of Commerce, Walsall Business Support provides grants to applicants who want funding for projects to enhance business life in the borough.

Walsall Business Support board member Rob Colbourne OBE said: “We are really pleased to be able to provide DS Training with this funding.

“Training up more first aiders in Walsall will enhance the community’s preparedness to respond effectively to emergencies and help save lives. By gaining qualifications, learners will also improve their employability and readiness for various job opportunities.”
