A traditional manufacturer of luxury leather goods is set to expand its services following a £7,000 investment from Walsall Business Support.

Established in 2000, the manufacturer specialises in supplying luxury leather products including notebook covers, photo albums, stationery and leather accessories to the consumer and trade markets worldwide.

The £7,000 investment will allow the manufacturer to purchase a new machine to expand their range of bespoke, personalised leather products to grow the business further.

Employing highly skilled, long serving members of staff, the business recently welcomed a new member to the team who will be trained in traditional leather work skills as part of their development.

Formed by leading local business figures to distribute funds collected from the legacy of Walsall Chamber of Commerce, Walsall Business Support provides grants to applicants who want funding for projects to enhance business life in the borough.

The manufacturer’s managing director said: “we are thrilled to receive funding from Walsall Business Support. The investment for a new machine will help us to maintain the history, skills and integrity of the leather goods industry and allow us to expand our services.

“The business is deep rooted in the Walsall leather goods industry. We are a highly skilled team of people who love what we do- a big thank you to my dedicated team, Linda, Tracey, Yusuf, Dabender and Alan.”

Walsall Business Support board member John Murray said: “As a town with a rich heritage in the leather trade it’s great that Walsall Business Support were able to help the manufacturer with a donation to facilitate the expansion of their services. We wish them all the best.”
